GUIDANCE: A-Z
"Trust in the LORD
with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all
thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy
path." Proverbs 3:5-6
L
Ecclesiastes 2:10
And whatsoever mine eyes desired
I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart
rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.
Ecclesiastes 5:12
The sleep of a labouring man
[is] sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich
will not suffer him to sleep.
Ecclesiastes 11:6
In the morning sow thy seed,
and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether
shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both [shall be] alike
good.
John 9:4
I must work the works of him
that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Luke 10:7
And in the same house remain,
eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy
of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, thou sluggard;
consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Provideth her meat in the summer, [and] gathereth her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 13:11
Wealth [gotten] by vanity shall
be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
Proverbs 16:26
He that laboureth laboureth
for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
Jeremiah 22:10
Weep ye not for the dead, neither
bemoan him: [but] weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return
no more, nor see his native country.
Matthew 10:16-20
Behold, I send you forth as
sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless
as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils,
and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought
before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and
the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what
ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall
speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which
speaketh in you.
Palms 121:1-8
{A Song of degrees.}
I will lift up mine eyes unto
the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help [cometh] from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he
that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall
neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD [is] thy keeper: the LORD [is] thy
shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the
moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve
thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from
this time forth, and even for evermore.
Hebrews 13:56
[Let your] conversation [be]
without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for
he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may
boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall
do unto me.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I [am] with
thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea,
I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always,
[even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
Psalms 23:1-6
{A Psalm of David.}
The LORD [is] my shepherd;
I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth
me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the
paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art]
with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table
before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with
oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
I Corinthians 13:1-13
Though I speak with the tongues
of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass,
or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand
all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that
I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though
I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to
be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth
long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself,
is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own,
is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but
rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth
all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether [there
be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall
cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know
in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come,
then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spoke
as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became
a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as
also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but
the greatest of these [is] charity.
Deuteronomy 6:5
And thou shalt love the LORD
thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Ephesians 5:1-2
Be ye therefore followers of
God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us,
and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a
sweetsmelling savour.
Galatians 5:13
For, brethren, ye have been
called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh,
but by love serve one another.
I John 3:18
My little children, let us
not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give unto
you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one
another. By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have
love one to another.
John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than
this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Leviticus 19:18
Thou shalt not avenge, nor
bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love
thy neighbour as thyself: I [am] the LORD.
Luke 6:32
For if ye love them which love
you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Luke 10:27
And he answering said, Thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as
thyself.
I Peter 4:8
And above all things have fervent
charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirreth up strifes:
but love covereth all sins.
Proverbs 15:17
Better [is] a dinner of herbs
where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
Proverbs 17:9
He that covereth a transgression
seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth [very] friends.
Song of Solomon 1:2
Let him kiss me with the kisses
of his mouth: for thy love [is] better than wine.
Song of Solomon 7:10
I [am] my beloved's, and his
desire [is] toward me.
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
Set me as a seal upon thine
heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love [is] strong as death; jealousy
[is] cruel as the grave: the coals thereof [are] coals of fire, [which
hath a] most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can
the floods drown it: if [a] man would give all the substance of his house
for love, it would utterly be contemned.
II Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the
spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
