"Trust in the LORD
with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all
thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy
path." Proverbs 3:5-6
G
Ephesians 4:22-24
That ye put off concerning
the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the
deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye
put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true
holiness.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit
is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law.
Luke 18:9-14
And he spoke this parable unto
certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised
others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and
the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself,
God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust,
adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give
tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would
not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast,
saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down
to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth
himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
I Peter 1:15
But as he which hath called
you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation.
Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God that bringeth
salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness
and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this
present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing
of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for
us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself
a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
I Corinthians 12:4-8
Now there are diversities of
gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations,
but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the
same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit
is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit
the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life.
Leviticus 19:16
Thou shalt not go up and down
[as] a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the
blood of thy neighbour: I [am] the LORD.
Proverbs 11:13
A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
Proverbs 16:28
A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
Proverbs 17:9
He that covereth a transgression
seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth [very] friends.
Proverbs 20:19
He that goeth about [as] a
talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth
with his lips.
Proverbs 26:20
Where no wood is, [there] the
fire goeth out: so where [there is] no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
Deuteronomy 6:5-13
And thou shalt love the LORD
thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk
of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the
way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt
bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between
thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and
on thy gates. And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought
thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac,
and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst
not, And houses full of all good [things], which thou filledst not,
and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which
thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; [Then]
beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land
of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God,
and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Ecclesiastes 5:10
He that loveth silver shall
not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase:
this [is] also vanity.
Jeremiah 17:11
[As] the partridge sitteth
[on eggs], and hatcheth [them] not; [so] he that getteth riches, and not
by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall
be a fool.
Luke 12:15-31
And he said unto them, Take
heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the
abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spoke a parable unto
them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have
no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will
pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits
and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid
up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, [and] be merry. But God
said unto him, [Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee:
then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So [is] he
that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. And he
said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for
your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
The life is more than meat, and the body [is more] than raiment. Consider
the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse
nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought
for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin
not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in
the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more [will he
clothe] you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or
what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things
do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye
have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 19:24
And again I say unto you, It
is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich
man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Proverbs 11:24
There is that scattereth, and
yet increaseth; and [there is] that withholdeth more than is meet, but
[it tendeth] to poverty.
Proverbs 23:4-5
Labour not to be rich: cease
from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?
for [riches] certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle
toward heaven.
I Timothy 6:6-10
But godliness with contentment
is great gain. For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and it is] certain
we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith
content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare,
and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction
and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while
some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows.
II Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed [be] God, even the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of
all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able
to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves
are comforted of God.
II Corinthians 12:8-10
For this thing I besought the
Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace
is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most
gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power
of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in
reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's
sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Hebrews 12:3-13
For consider him that endured
such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint
in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children,
My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou
art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth
every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with
you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But
if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards,
and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected
[us], and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection
unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened
[us] after their own pleasure; but he for [our] profit, that [we] might
be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth
to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable
fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore
lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make
straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of
the way; but let it rather be healed.
Isaiah 40:1
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people,
saith your God.
Isaiah 51:12
I, [even] I, [am] he that comforteth
you: who [art] thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man [that] shall
die, and of the son of man [which] shall be made [as] grass.
Job 15:11
[Are] the consolations of God
small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
John 11:25-26
Jesus said unto her, I am the
resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never
die. Believest thou this?
John 16:22
And ye now therefore have sorrow:
but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no
man taketh from you.
Matthew 5:4
Blessed [are] they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted.
Psalms 23:1-6
{A Psalm of David.}
The LORD [is] my shepherd;
I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth
me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the
paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art]
with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table
before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with
oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalms 86:17
Show me a token for good; that
they which hate me may see [it], and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast
holpen me, and comforted me.
Psalms 94:18-19
When I said, My foot slippeth;
thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me
thy comforts delight my soul.
II Thessalonians 2:16-17
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself,
and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting
consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and establish
you in every good word and work.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13
And now, Israel, what doth
the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk
in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all
thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the LORD,
and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
To every [thing there is] a
season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born,
and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up [that which
is] planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down,
and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to
mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather
stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to
speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of
peace. What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? I
have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised
in it. He hath made every [thing] beautiful in his time: also he hath set
the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God
maketh from the beginning to the end.
Isaiah 58:11
And the LORD shall guide thee
continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and
thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose
waters fail not.
John 15:1-8
I am the true vine, and my
Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he
taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that
it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which
I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot
bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except
ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in
me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye
can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch,
and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and
they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall
ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified,
that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit
of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak
of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he
will shew you things to come.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all
thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Psalms 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach
thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalms 143:10
Teach me to do thy will; for
thou [art] my God: thy spirit [is] good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
